His Scary Pumpkin

Proud Mom moment...our 13 yr. old cut out this mighty fine pumpkin in his stagecraft class. I think he did a great job.

He painted it, too, but ran out of time in class (doesn't that always happen) so he asked me to finish it. All I did was recolor what he did and make his eyes yellow inside. I think he started out orange, then went to green somewhere along the line. So he's more of a dracula pumpkin! I can appreciate his orange undertones...can't you? Gives him character.

He also has a sad face on the backside...

I'm glad he wrote his name on it, that's my favorite part. Check out the bat he also cut out. Looks like he started to paint that, too. Wonder how it'll be finished?!

This little bit o friendship was added to one of the videos in the E-Workshop, totally unrelated to the topic of the Workshop...but I had to add it to the end of a video! They love being outside, so I have been trying to slow life down a bit and spend more time out there with them. Soon it'll be too cold, ack!!

It's an A. Mac Attack!

(actually Mc, not Mac...anyhoo) Yes, I just had to pop in and show you this poster my daughter, Allie, did for her University's Art & Design Big Ass Art Day. Oh, and she didn't name this Annual Event...that's it's official title!

One of her graphic design professors asked her if she would design the poster, flyers and tickets to this Event. It all takes place in the Art & Design Building. Attendance is required for all art and design students (I'm jealous).

Anyhoo, he really likes her illustrations and doodles...and they turned out great. I wish you could see the details...some of the illustrations and details are so funny...like the man on the right with next to an ass...errr...donkey...nope, ass.

Here, he had some students cut up the poster and put it on cardboard boxes. He really likes installations...

That's pretty big, isn't it? At the bottom is says...Save The Date, Playaaa!

Haha....gotta love the life and lingo of college kids.

Balloons and BBQ

Would you like to ride in my beautiful balloon? Up up and away...in my beautiful my beautiful bal-loon...

This past weekend put on our hats (yes we found hats!) we went to The Nebraska Wine & Hot Air Balloon Festival.

This one was my fav...

I brought a big lens thinking we'd be farther away from the balloons, that was a mistake. They were practically right in front of us, so I couldn't get good pix of all of them in the sky. Shoot.

There were some kicky tunes playing from the band...

It was absolutely packed out there in the cornfields, too many people. We preferred the more intimate 200 or so people at the vineyard we went to earlier in the Summer.

The hubbies wanted BBQ and I got some classic photos of my B-I-L, Bob and his BBQ. This man seriously loves his BBQ.

This shot is golden my friends. Look at those fingers.

He runs triathalons...so he can eat like this. It's true.

Here's my date...in a hat, yay for hats!

When the moon glowed, so did the balloons. Pretty cool!

It was a fun evening. Great weather.

We hope we get a chance to go back to the vineyard soon, though. :)

It's definitely a keeper. the blogging article by Vivienne McMaster about taking a photo walk is beautiful. Danni Hong's article is sooo her. Her story made me laugh and smile.

There are several articles and photos inside that make my heart go pitter pat. The luggage cases, Roben Marie's spool necklaces, the country wedding...so many pretties!

Catching Up

Heyyyy, how was your long weekend? We are sorta dragging around here today, which is a sign it was a good one! I've got a few pix from our 4th with family. We always have a great time together!

My sweet niece, the birf-day girl...

These two blondies were cupcake, smoke bomb and sparkler buddies. Pretty cute watching them, I gotta tell ya.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have the 4th...guy style.

They rarely sat still, too busy lighting off stuff. So when they did, out came the camera!

When it got dark, we took pix of the kids with sparklers...with the f-stop cranked on the camera. That was a whole lot of fun! Love how this one came out.

The Pink a Bella Girls

Let' start the week off with a smile. A big heart warming smile and then a little goosebumpish squeal of delight. That's what these three are doing, and we should too!

This photo of Lynn Lesback and her girls is the perfect start to the week. They are giddy about seeing themselves in the soon to be released issue of the newest Stampington publication Create With Me!

Lynn, who should win Mom of the Year, for taking her girls on a weekend retreat they labeled, Pink a Bella...an offshoot of Silver Bella. That's all I'm going to tell you about it...you'll just have to read the article in Create With Me which will be on newstands any day now.

Congratulations to the Pink a Bella girls!! I can't wait to see you all in print! Thanks for sharing this whole story with me, Lynn!!

And...thanks to everyone who commented on the previous post about "being an artist". Definitely some great food for thought!! Glad to know I'm not the only one.
