This book is usually in my bag Monday-Friday. I started One Thousand Gifts about the time the kids went back to school. I read a couple pages while waiting for my son after practice, etc.
Love having that bright spot in my day--being coccooned in my car, sun beaming thru the car windows mid afternoon, the silence...it all provides the perfect scene for bright spots soaking in good things.
Have you read this book? I'm only about 1/4th of the way through. Ann Voskamp has such a beautiful and poetic writing style. I reread a lot of the sentences...for the sake of letting the poetics sink in and resonate. I'm anxious to get farther into the book! Great so far.
I am reading this book, too, this summer. I have re-read the first chapter a handful of times. There is a lot to absorb and I am thankful there was someone like Ann to write all this down and share it with us.

I too am reading this book... and rereading to get each piece. Really making me think about all the precious gifts God gives.

I have this book too and just spend a long time reading it. I relish over each excerpt. I have really had a time of being far from the Lord lately and this book has begun the spark that has drawn me back. I go to sleep, on nights I read this, with such a peaceful, grateful heart to the Lord.
