During the past week I've been itching to make something, just for me. Ya know that feeling? After looking at my desk I decided it was time to gather all of the quotes I've tucked on boards and in books. All the favorites. The keepers.
So I did. I spent some time editing and devising some sort of system to contain the quotes that I still love or whose words and sentiments never fade. The ones that really stick with you.
Eeeks, there were so many! I narrowed the favorites down to 35 or so.
Then I created library card journal pages, simply. The words were the important part for me. Then I embellished the book.
Here is the finished book! Finally, it came together. The pink ribbon isn't that pink in real life (camera/color issue there). It's more magenta and not hot pink.
I took it a step further and have made the whole thing into a kit for you to assemble, create and enjoy. I know, I know, it's been quite a long time since I've made kits! I got pretty burned out doing that a few years ago. But this quote book just screams "share me".
The quotes are my favorite part...I love how they resonate and linger...and have the right amount of staying power to make me want to read and reread them. Nice sentiments to start off the new year.
I wish I could make them all myself but that's not going to happen. So...kits!
The kits contain:
- How-to assembly instructions with photos
- 35+ quotes color printed on vintage looking index cards, cardstock weight
- Chipboard for book covers
- Patterned paper for covers (Daisy D's, no longer available anywhere, but I have a stack of it so yay)
- Clear star pin (Maya Road)
- Silver garland snip
- 2 silver book rings
- 2 color seam binding (coffee stained), silk ribbon, black and white twine
- Tinted metal rim tag
- "Collected" title on cardstock
- mini photo of two wee little girls (so cute)
- Mother of Pearl buttons
- Vintage velvet for book corners
I didn't make that many because some supplies were limited.
Anyhoo, my plan is to have them on the website (in the Provisions section) by Thursday, January 6, 9:00 am (central). I hope you check them out!
What a fun idea. We all end up with bits and pieces of paper all over the place from finding quotes etc. that we love. Such a great way to put them together

I was just thinking...gee, wish she'd make some to sell! Great minds think alike! LOL Can't wait to order one. BTW, are the index cards blank so we can assemble our own collection of quotes? I wasn't sure. Anyhoo, great idea! Hope I can nab one!
