About 6 weeks ago, I spotted this pillow while shopping with my Mom on her visit here. I had it in my head that it was a bench with a pillow on it. Later I realized it that was not so. It was just a pillow. It was way cooler in my head as a bench though! I visited the pillow online anyway and daydreamed about it. When I asked hubby if he would make me a bench he just laughed at me.
So I forced myself to forget the bench with the cool pillow.
Then one day I saw on a blog somewhere how someone made a tables out of wooden pallets. They were rustic, weathered, and well....cool. See them here.
My pillow stalking was on again. It wasn't available online anymore, but my local store still had one. ONE! And one was all I needed! It's like it was meant to be, right?
So yada yada yada...we made a bench! I love it! Here's the finished result.
We liked the wire legs on the tables they used, but they wouldn't be durable for sitting on. So we had to get creative with wood. We think we did ok.
I like the small shelves. Maybe store blankets in them. For now, books.
Oh, hubby was able to purchase a new heat treated pallet for $10. We only used part of it. Cut it to fit the size of the pillow which was 16x 40". Looks like hubby is the peach of the week!
very cool!

You have solved a problem for me with your wonderful bench!!! Looks great! Thanks. Now I have to convince me hubby, who likes to work from rough-sawn hardwood to create "real" furniture that this up-cycle project will be perfect for my needs. I'm giddy with anticipation. Your cushion is grand too. Love it.

Love that! I saw a great twin daybed made out of a pallet that I thought was great in a magazine! It had industrial wheels so that it could be scooted around the room, and a ticking mattress...swoon!

Hi,
I LOVE YOUR BENCH! where, oh, where, does one find a new heat treated pallet? I know a handy person who would be up for the challenge of creating a similar bench and I want to have all the info first, before I suggest the project.
You are soooo creative. Thanks for the inspiration and for blogging with details and info, so the inspiration can be shared and spread around the blogging world.
YOU are a peach!

Hi! I love it and would like to make something similar. Would you tell me how you attached the legs? I'm a beginner in these things and are trying to figure it out.
