Earlier I showed a freehand sampler I'd done over the past few months. I've finished another one.
This one was started the end of March, and again... worked on about 20 minutes, 5 days a week...in the car. :)
Blues and browns...yummy combination, and that's what I stuck with. This will probably go in our bedroom, not sure.
There were a few questions when I showed the first sampler:
"What fabric did you stitch on?" I used a vintage hemp linen (found on EBay). It's really thick. Love it and want more of course.
"Do you use a hoop?" Nope. I didn't want to stretch this linen, maybe it would maybe it wouldn't. But I never use a hoop anyway.
"What will you do with it now that it's done?" I just tack them to old cupboard doors that serve as inspiration boards in my studio. Maybe I'll frame this one...not sure yet. That's wasn't part of the process for me...the creating was. These would make fantastic pillow covers, too, I'm thinking.
Of course, I'm eager to begin another one. But I know, I'll be totally consumed by it, and I can't be consumed by a anything these days other than the graduate and the company and the end of the year sports and all of the parties and the state meet and and and....
You can click on the above photo and get a big ol' eye full!
P.S. Totally different subject....but I've posted details for Silver Bella Market Vendors on the Silver Bella Blog. Today you can start requesting applications!
This is really, really pretty...and inspiring.

This sampler turned out fantastic. I tried doing this when I first heard you talk about it and it is hard to do (in my opinion)!! This is great! I love it! I guess practice makes perfect. You should definitely frame this. Oh the memories you will have whenever you look at it. Excellent!

What a glorious, relaxing way to spend your time "waiting"...more of us should do this and I think we'd all be happier and joyful...as long as we enjoy the process and not look at it as another "thing to do" and a measure of accomplishment. Perhaps you could do an ezine on this Teresa...please, please, please...love ya, Roberta
