On a cold Saturday
Jim and I went downtown to do some gift certificate cashing in. I have had a few of them from Second Chance Antiques burning a hole in my pocket for a while now. Look at my loot!
That is a huge old die cut, in good condition. Maybe it'd be fun to frame it?
Those Shiny Brites were a perfect box full and only $5. Nice. The celluloid album's cover was the reason it went into the basket. Lovely, no?
Where are they going by carriage? Into my studio for inspiration! The colors are so vibrant for it's age. I've been getting really tired of all the gray, creme and browns I had going on in there. Especially since there's almost no sunlight in the space. So some colors are starting to mingle inside, a little. We'll see what happens.
The chippy Victorian old jewelry box was a heart stealer. It's great to me just the way it is.The colors! Gaa! At least the dancing couple on the top is in good shape. I also got a large chippy chalk bust. It's a lady's head. Really chippy. I'm not sure if I'll keep it the way it is or resurface it somehow. It's creeping out the kiddos.
I have been doing some cleaning and organizing here and there in my studio since the holidays, and this was my reward. Yay! Oh, and the folks at 2nd Chance made me promise to tell all of the Bella's out there hello. So "hello to you all!" (waving hands) from the peaches on Jackson Street!

Absolutely beautiful finds! You and your basket must have been very happy! The die cut is gorgeous!
Thanks for sharing your goodies!

I still think of Second Chance, and would love to have hours in there alone to unearth all the treasures it holds. Love your finds, especially the cute "sisters" figurine.

The cover of that celluloid album reminds me of several vintage French postcards I have - sort of a gypsy gal, marked "Mignon" I think. Beautiful!
